Yellow rose

In her shifting pose,

Lulled by the wind,

I take that hint.

Into me, into you,

The cherry tree is bearing fruit.

If reality’s a mirror,

I see stillness.

In my aching limbs,

Beyond my pride,

I surrender to the Flow,

For I am the Flow,

And I share the essence of the yellow rose.

Unexpected Blessings

Welcome the unexpected blessings,

Always.

Welcome

The robin song echoing from a twig,

The smile of a cute face down the street,

The nurturing scent of the soil,

The smooth fragrance of olive oil.

Welcome

The acrobatic seagull in the wind,

The blotch of sunlight above grey clouds,

The dead leaves dancing in a whirlwind,

The morning sky that mistily clouds.

Welcome

The heron gazing its pond like a king,

The crow flying on the black magic wing.

But not all of them look like a blessing,

Some are disguised and unleash hurting.

Things in life don’t happen to you,

They happen for you.

Welcome the unexpected blessings,

Always.

Give Yourself Permission

Picture: Hummingbird Love (Open Hands) by Elody Gyekis

Give yourself permission

To feel the breeze in on your skin,

To listen to the wind.

Give yourself permission

To breathe in the stillness of a tree,

To learn from the careless joy of a dog.

Give yourself permission

To be in harmony with the people surrounding you,

To honour them with your presence.

And

Please

Whatever the circumstances

Give yourself permission

To be happy now.

The Fragrance Of A New Dimension

I haven’t smelled this in ages

That’s how it feels today

So fresh, so nurturing.

I’ve stepped into a new realm of possibilities

The sign says: “Go ahead, relax.”

Some cosmic knots have untied

New energy flows smoothly

I welcome all this.

Don’t Search, Find

I’ve been hunting a laugh,

Her eyes, her smile so vibrant;

I’ve been looking for diamonds in a pile of coal,

For love outside myself.

Then,

I saw, I saw it again:

Love is already there,

Love is within you,

Within me;

I couldn’t make my mirror smile before smiling.

Go to the heart centre,

Feel the warmth

Warming all things in existence.

Don’t search,

Find.

The Seagull’s Laughter

A gentle reminder

Of oneness.

I am the seagull flying above the streets

Flying in the rain

Flying ‘bove the chimneys

Flying ‘bove the pain

Of our blind realities…

Our small suffering is a tiny part of the whole,

The Nature whole we’re one with;

So let there be healing:

Witness the trees drinking from the sky

Witness the crows rejoicing on death

Witness the purity of a smile

Untarnished by the mind;

Listen to the seagull’s laughter as you walk by.

The Door

A door in the dark

Nicely made, cedar wood, brass finish and handle.

It’s scary because it guards the unknown,

So excuses pop in the mind like salmons.

You believe the salmons and dismiss the door:

“There might be demons there, there might be effort…”

“There might be beauty, so it must be locked.”

So you pick another passage, the gate is open down there, easy.

After a couple of miles, the same cedar wood door appears, again.

You look the other way,

Walk more.

It reappears: you must surrender.

Now, you find yourself picking the lock

For days, weeks, months

Finally, it opens

And…

“Wait a minute, it didn’t click as usual.”

Yes, my friend

Sometimes the door you were so afraid to go through

Was open, to begin with.
