*
It takes a bit o’ measure
To stop a second and take
Heed of a kind of leisure
Hid in the scales of the snake.
*
The snake slides on and on and
Seems to never end; it
Winds, persuasive, ’round the bend,
Clouds flashing all about it.
*
Yet if one is to be keen
One would surely see beyond
The mesmerizing gleam
Mirrored in scales of diamond.
*
Big questions serve as bait,
If one refrains from answers.
Listen patiently and wait:
A fragment flips and flitters.
*
It takes one simple moment
And nothing more than focus.
How frugal is contentment
When time is hocus-pocus?
