Frammenti Di Lago
*
L’animo pago,
Costeggio le acque calme
Di questo lago.
Oasi urbana, senza palme,
Ma viva di querce, salici e betulle
Faggi, aceri e noccioli;
Le zolle inbiancate, come culle,
Svezzano i giovani piccioli.
*
Acque calme, fisse nel rosone
Bianco di questa cattedrale
Affollata come non mai
Dai canti sacri degli uccelli,
Un ritmo libero e cadenzato
Perfetto
Come i frammenti gelidi di questo lago.

Shards Of A Frozen Lake
*
My soul is satisfied,
Coasting the quiet waters
Of this lake.
Urban oasis without palms,
But lively with oak, willow and birch,
Beech, maple and hazel;
The grassy knolls, covered in white, like cradles,
Wean the young stems.
*
Quiet waters are fixed in the white rose-window
Of this cathedral,
Crowded as never before
By the sacred hymns of the birds.
(Their) Free and cadenced rhythm,
(Is) Perfect
Like the frozen shards of this lake.
