Whitebeam, Hawthorn And Apple

Juicy, crisp and vibrant.

I don’t need to chew your flesh

To taste what the birds taste…

But when I do,

I experience a viewpoint,

Commune with my fellow

And give God a chance to know Itself

Through yet one more form.

Whitebeam, hawthorn and apple,

Embodiments of abundance,

Beyond the clever ruses

Of the mind,

Teach us the secret to a happy life.

The more I read the book of Nature,

The more I know without knowing.

The more I observe the variety of creation,

The less I need in this moment.
